Skin Asthma And How To Treat Them 06/03/2011
For many people, skin asthma is a condition they have never heard of. Actually, it is more commonly known as eczema and is a form of atopic dermatitis meaning the skin is predisposed to being highly sensitive to allergens and this causes inflammation of the skin. Eczema is a chronic condition that if a person who has it does not take proper care of his skin, he will really suffer. The most visible signs of skin asthma appears on the face, hands, feet and trunk. Red and scaly patches sprout like wild mushrooms during flare ups. Though it may come and go because it is highly dependent on the external condition such as weather, environment, dust, chemicals, detergents and smoke, it is very somewhat insufferable to deal with the flare ups every once in a while. And so preventing skin asthma attacks is the key. One of the most important thing people who suffer from skin asthma should do is to moisturize. While there are so many moisturizers out in the market, it is very important that a person with eczema should make sure that he is using a natural and organic moisturizer because chemicals and fragrances can cause a flare up. This being said, one might suffer an attack instead of preventing it in the first place. One can also use soaps or bath gels that do not dry the skin. Using something that is rich in moisturizing ingredients such as olive oil, cocoa butter, and virgin coconut oil can do many wonders for the skin. Virgin Coconut Oil, for example, is rich in lauric gel and is very powerful in soothing dry skin. Lauric gel repairs damaged cells and promotes it regeneration.
